K-Tech Construction is a local Wilmington-based general contracting firm. The owner, Anthony Kwiatek began his career in construction with his first small business in North Carolina in 1991. Job by job and learning everything he could about all construction phases – knowing how it all works- in time, Anthony became a preferred professional when business and homeowners needed quality work done. He maintained long term relationships with many of those same clients to this day. He has gained an in-depth knowledge of all construction systems and became a master and perfectionist at remodeling.
As opportunities presented themselves, Anthony entered the corporate sector and worked his way up to management, beginning as a carpenter for a commercial builder, and working diligently to become a foreman and then project manager. In his portfolio of projects were the interior construction of three stores on the Sandals Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos, a Tourneau Watch Store in Massachusetts, a Havana Nines Clothing and Apparel Store in St. Thomas Virgin Islands, a Med Spa in Fort Lauderdale Florida, and many other office and mall retail store build-outs and restaurants.
(He understands restaurants and the importance of a well-designed plan for optimum efficient workflow. He owned and operated a small restaurant called Boston Roast Beef & Clams in Wilmington North Carolina back in 1994 – 1996.)
Following the market crash (Housing Bubble) in 2008, construction activities came to a halt. Switching gears and keeping food on the table and a roof over his family’s head, Anthony moved over to the manufacturing arena and served as a plant manager in the manufacturing of export and Mil Spec packaging, protective foam packaging and contract packaging fulfillment services. He used this opportunity to gain experience in workforce management, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizens and continual improvements.
He understands risk analysis and Job Site Safety and has applied this knowledge to his job sites to help reduce workplace injuries and illness. His dedication to providing a safe working environment earned his plant a SHARPS award from OSHA and the North Carolina Department of Labor.
